SVOYNTEK AGAIN HAS A HOLIDAY Constant author of the issue Iryna Svoyntek published the second album “Hutsulshchyna Embroidery. Ornament and Coloring Art” (2008). Illa Zlobina writes that the album is a worthy contribution into the treasury of Ukrainian cultural heritage. The album is built in such a way that in every part correspondingly to the oblast regions color embroideries of Verkhovenshchena, Nadviryianshchyna, Yarremchanshchyna, Kosivshchyna are submitted alongside with the photo of Hutsuly in the end of XX – beginning of XXI centuries. These embroideries have been widely used in villages and churches, at different holidays, weddings, festivals. For embroiderers and researches embroideries are presented from both sides – the front and back ones. The author attracts attention to local peculiarities of shirts with embroideries, local names etc. |
