IVAN PRYKHODO’S ART REVALATIONS

One of the guides into folk art is our contemporary Ivan Prykhodko from Dudarkiv village in Kyiv region. From his childhood he felt nature and its beauty. But the boy had a difficult life – he lost his father during the war and was brought up by his grandparents as his mother was working hard in a collective farm. He served in the army in Perm, where he got married and had his first exhibition of wooden works. In 1970 he participated in All-Union exhibition in Moscow with his work “Love”. Nostalgia called him to his motherland – since 1973 he again has been living in his native village. Here he as if was born one more time – his heart started signing the native songs. Tetiana Poshyvaylo examines the master’s life step after step from “perestroika’s” times till these days. The master has a lot of links with the Museum of Ukrainian Folk Decorative Art, famous masters, experts in art. His creative activity has been acknowledged and marked by a number of prizes. Ivan Prykhodko is one of few masters who saved genetic memory about unity of the world, magic of the word, sign, symbol, color. He brings these mysteries of knowledge to people.
