CULTURE AND ART – YESTERDAY, TODAY, TOMORROW According to art critic Grygoriy Mishchenko it was the art elitist predestination since the Middle Ages that led it to the crises of West culture. Besides the absence in it of figurative language of the primary character that is present in folk art. All this deprives figurative creativity of social predestination and thus of future. Social belonging of a master is the main factor in formation of conceptual and aesthetic picture of the world. As a carrier and keeper of archetype code he states artistic reality from the depth of plastic elements, with the view at the time and change of their type. The critic compares cultures and arts of West and East and writes that East with its duration and traditions demonstrates both in political and cultural-art senses dynamics and perspective for future. Ukraine is traditionally osculant both to East and West. We even have such a wonder as Western and Eastern Ukraine from the point of view of cultural and art identity, in particular world outlook reflections of united national society. Traditions, conservative mentality of people of that area (in a good sense of the word), saved ability of creative self-realization in folk art – all these factors contribute future cultural development. National belonging forms real picture of the world and the place of a Human Being in it. |
