HANDICRAFT DEPARTMENT AT THE 1910 EXHIBITION IN KATERYNOSLAV – it was a great for those times Southern-Russian agricultural, industrial and handicraft exhibition that united the best works of the whole region of the southern part of the Empire. Mykola Chaban, the honorable journalist of Ukraine, writer, thoroughly examined archive materials, reviews in the press and presented the readers this event that had been of great importance for handicraft masters of Eastern Ukraine and not for manufacturers. The author analyses the exhibit from different areas and marks out the most noticeable from Katerynoslav region Novomoskovsk area – 116 handicraft masters exhibited their works. In the summary the author analyses that Ukrainians from Poltava and Katerynoslav by their mutual efforts wanted to create at the 1910 exhibition Ukrainian farm, to present Eastern Ukrainian handicraft works in the best way possible. And they managed to do it in some way. There were exciting assessments (Yevhen Chykalenko) and positive with critical remarks (Mykola Stasiuk). This greatest exhibition of the XX century played its positive role in promotion of folk Ukrainian art.
