Zoya Stashuk

BORN AGAIN CENTURIES LATER

A thick notebook in a yellow old cover discovered in the library of the Ukrainian Museum of Folk Decorative Art became a real finding for Zoya Stashuk, honorable folk art master of Ukraine. It contained 573 painted pysankas of the XIXth century from six collections from Podillia that have never been known before. The notebook has been keeping in secret the spiritual treasure of people from Podillia for more than one hundred years. The author tells about her finding and unique collection of painted by herself eggs. In spring 2008 in the Museum there was held the exhibition of this collection during a month and a half. After the exhibition was over Zoya Stashuk presented it to the Museum to be kept in its funds.
