A FOLK PICTURE – NOWADAYS AND FUTURE Art critic Hryhoriy Mishchenko analyses a folk picture and outlines that it brings a person back to his unforgettable memories, to the wonderful moments of this world. The author thinks it was the picture “Cossack Mamay” that helped to understand the essence basis of a folk picture. In a folk picture with swans-deers there were more archetype features, something that is dear to a Ukrainian heart than bourgeois and primitive spirit. The critic analyses a folk picture evolution in the 60s, 70s of the last century. He underlines that thanks to the NUFAMU activity a folk picture gained acknowledgement and corresponding place in the Ukrainian art life; analyses the NUFAMU members’ works – our contemporaries, and makes the conclusion: according to the development and innovation trends of a folk picture it’s possible to state that it has future because it is understandable and needed by many circles of our society. It’ll become a phenomenon of a national scale in the new history of the XXIst century. |
