A Sprout from Crimean Tatar Culture Leyla Tairova, expert in art, presents our readers Nuriya Achkuryna-Muftieva’s scientific work “Terminological Dictionary of Crimean Tatar Decorative Art” (Simferopol, KRP “Krymuchpedgyz” Publishing House, 2007), published both in Russian and Tatar. Before publishing the author had carried out great scientific and research work, deep professional analysis. The Dictionary contains terminological vocabulary, definitions of different subjects and ornamental motives of Crimean Tatar art. There one can find both the terms that are still used in contemporary language and those that have become archaic The Dictionary is a great contribution to Ukrainian art science related to revival of Crimean Tatar culture. |
