We’ll Revive Wicker-Work from Rods
It’s the call of Yevgen Shevchenko, the Head of the NUFAMU. This unique kind of folk art and art trades needs special attention and support. Unfortunately a lot of places where wicker-work from rods was popular have disappeared during the last decade. The first step to revival of the trade was the All-Ukrainian Symposium “Chernigiv – 2007). During two weeks on the basis of Chernigiv oblast training art center of culture and art the masters from different areas exchanged technical and art skills, technology of preparing raw material, creating forms. The Symposium has become an important stage in the trade revival.
