Oleksander Fedoruk

Inspired by Kateryna Bilokur’s Sonorous Muse

Inspired by Kateryna Bilokur’s Sonorous Muse – it’s a narration by Oleksander Fedoruk, PhD in Arts about art inclinations of a top level professional of the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs diplomatic corps Dmytro Tkach. Having been for many years Ukrainian Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to Hungary he realized the state problems in different spheres of life – politics, economy, business, culture, trade, and at the same time showed his interest in folk art. He started from wood carving and when there was a forced and unfair break in his diplomatic career, he became a frequent visitor to the M. Boychuk Kyiv State Decorative and Applied Arts Institute ceramists. He tried pottery. He spent there long hours admiring Bilokur’s works. The master’s poetical world has become a part of Tkachuk’s life. A famous ceramist Petro Pechornyi believed in Tkach’s talent as a ceramist. He gave him the first lessons and later the master created a reputation of an intellectual, precise person. In his decorative works one can see an individual style, combination of a synthetic compositional field and rich colors.
