Vytynanky Holiday in Mogylev-Podilsky
May 31 of the current year in Mogylev-Podilsky the solemn closing of the IV All-Ukrainian Symposium of Vytynanky Masters took place. This year there was the greatest ever number of participants from different areas of Ukraine. The collection of works is constantly filled up and the level of quality is rising. The great and special role in this art belongs to one of the first masters in Vinnytsia area Oleksander Saliuk from the village Sainka, who made vytnanky famous. The article concerns the blessed memory of the master. It’s a wonder but his art in vytynanky concerning the art image and generalization hasn’t yet been exceeded by anybody. First he appeared in the oblast exhibitions in Vinnytsia area in the beginning of 60s. This simple art attracted attention of many people among whom was the late Mariya Oksentivna Rudenko, the legend and symbol of researching of Podillia area folklore. Soon after, she exhibited her first vytynanky at the oblast exhibition. Since then this art enthralled her for all her life. Mogylivshchyna has won the fame of vytynanky area and Mogylev-Podilsky has become a place for holding All-Ukrainian symposiums of vytynanky masters. Over a few years these congresses have covered the stage of establishment and development. The organizational experience and creative activity are now developed and ready to start the program for organizing the event on international level. The author of the article Volodymyr Tytarenko believes that the era of qualitative positive changes in public and art life has come to Vinnytsia region, as well as to all Ukraine.
