Yevgen Postupaylo’s Phenomenon
Volodymyr Tytarenko, expert in art, writes that the modern Ukrainian pottery that is based on the ancient ethnic folk traditions is represented by the tens of famous and less famous masters. Yevgen Postupaylo first came to Chygyryn for symposium in 2006 being already a potter. But at that time his experience was too small. During the last two years the young man has had three sensational personal exhibitions. The first exhibition took place in Chygyryn, in Bogdan Khmelnytskyi’s museum. Another master’s exhibition organized by the National Union of the Folk Masters of Ukraine in cooperation with the National Historical and Cultural Reserve “Chygyryn” took place in Kyiv in 27-A, Reytarska street hall. The Kyiv citizens were amazed with the works not lees than the citizens of Chygyryn. Inspired with success Yevgen Postupaylo decided to show his works in Vinnytsia, where he started to master ceramics art. It’s a pleasure to mention that the master courageously and successfully gives preference to creation of a functional drawn bowl that is rather rare nowadays.
