Iryna Omelianivna worked in “Lemkivshchyna” museum. WALL PAINTINGS OF LEMKI’S HOUSES — is a publication by Iryna Dobrianska on the basis of collected and analyzed material about the wall painting made by her already in 1930 — 1940 in the villages of South-Western part of Lemkivshchyna along the river Oslava, where ancient traditions and songs are still kept. The analyzed region witnesses about diversity of folk art of Ukrainian people and unanimity of Ukrainian culture. The primary material and spiritual culture has been kept in these villages due to the conditions of life of Ukrainian mountaineers in Western Carpathians, high mountains and isolation. The common feature of all Ukrainians is found in this culture — aspiration for decorating rhymes in available form, in particular, in decorating clothes and houses.
