SUBOTIV — 2007
Folk art masters all-Ukrainian symposium took place in Subotiv and Chyhyryni in Cherkasy region from September 4 till September 15, 2007. The aim of the action was traditional — to create favorable conditions for practical creative activity, produce art works in different genres, improve individual skills and technological methods. The peculiarity of this year symposium was its thematic direction to the image of the famous folk picture “Cossack Mamay” main character. The symposium organizers lead mysterious image of Cossack Mamay to the stage of the modern history of Ukrainian people, calling to use in full measure fine arts heritage of previous generations. At the symposium great attention was paid to exchange of art information, discussions about creative and organizational problems. Modern possibilities in folk art development were outlined.
