POROHY — 2007
“Porohy — 2007” symposium of the stonemason art masters was held as a logical continuation of the last year symposium. But this one differed in its geography — sculptyres were created for the villages Porohy and Bushy in Vinnytsia region and for the town Chyhyryn in Cherkasy region. Among the participants there were mykola Shtets and his son Yanosh from Dnipropetrovsk, Vasyl Shevchuk from Kyiv, Oleksandr Pepeshko from Yampol in Vinnytsia region, honored folk art master from Vinnytsia Vasyl Slobodianiuk, folk art stonemason masters Andriy Buhay and his son Ivan, Oleksandr Tkachuk and Anatoliy Prylypko from Porohy. The symposium has become one more important stage in the practical experience of acquiring and revival of this ancient and unique art trade. The interest to the stone as to the art material continues to increase due to such art actions. The author of the article is Volodymyr Tytarenko.
