HANNA SOBACHKO-SHOSTAK HANNA SOBACHKO-SHOSTAK — a story told by an art expert Olena Shestakova about extraordinary talent of Ukrainian master, whose unique works’ collection is kept in the Ukrainian Folk Decorative Art Museum (Kyiv). Hanna Sobchak’s talent, which was connected with historical and cultural processes of the beginning of the XX century, derived its strength from the depth of Ukrainian folk spirituality under thorough supervision of Anastasiya Semygradova’s patronage (1879 — 1931) and a famous artist, organizer of home-made masters’ exhibitions Yevheniya Prybylska (1886 — 1948). Hanna Sobchak was a famous embroiderer and later master of decorative compositions on paper. The master was born in the village Scoptsi (now Veselynivka, Kyiv region), buried in Moscow. She was awarded the title of the Folk Artist of Ukraine posthumously. During more than fifty years her works have been exhibited at more than forty exhibitions in Ukraine and outside. The NUFAMU is preparing a new project to respect the 125th anniversary from Hanna Fedosiivna’s birth. |
