MASTERS FROM MYKOLAIV REGION
At the beginning of her narration Lina Listunova made a small trip into the ancient history of regional trades' development. Mykolaiv Union Center was registered in 1991. Saving of regional traditional folk art became its main task Since then exhibitions, festivals, master-classes has been held. The folk trades school was organized. In the region there has been developed rushnyk and other kinds of weaving, painting on pysankas, straw and with wicker, making jewelry, pottering, curving, tapestry, embroidery and other. Though the Center works in difficult conditions — it rents a very small room due to financial situation — masters from Mykolaiv region perform with honors their task before the society — saving a folk art treasury for descendants.
