WICKER-WORK ITEMS FROM IZA VILLAGE Yevheniya Hayova tells about the folk trade of wicker-works in Iza village that is 5 kilometers from Khusta. There wicker-working trade has old traditions, variety of shapes and types. It has been attracting attention of folk culture researchers, art experts and certainly of buyers since long time. The author talked to the masters and tells readers not only about technological peculiarities of the articles but about the peculiarities of local speech, names of different shapes of articles and furniture as well as sets of tools. It seems there isn't a thing the masters from Iza village can make. Author illustrates her interesting narration with her own photos. |
