LATVIAN PROJECT
The Ukrainian cultural and educational association "Dzherelo" in Yelgava alongside with the Art and Historical Museum initiated a cultural and art project "Let's be friends — we are Ukrainians". The aim of the said action is to show Latvians all directions of life activity of Ukrainian people, in particular, their traditional culture. At the end of 2006 "Hromada", the first Ukrainian association in Latvia, celebrated 95 years of its foundation. Together with the Ukrainian Center "Ivan Gonchar Museum" they implemented into life cultural and art project in arranging folk art exhibition, holding master-classes and presentation of book editions, in particular historical and ethnographical album "Ukraine and Ukrainians". The project involved Latvian embassy in Ukraine. Such art events widen spheres of influence of our culture, quench our countrymen thirst, enrich them.
