OLENA RYBALCHENKO'S NAIVE


According to the author of the narration Vladyslava Diachenko this master is a typical artist of natural gift. She was born in 1928 and was fond of painting from early childhood. She finished Pedagogical College in Odesa region and started her career as a teacher in a kindergarten and then at school. Then the war burst out, hunger, devastation, over 30 years of work in Kharkiv at a machine-tool plant. After retirement the master moved to Kherson and here from 1985 she really took up painting. At first she painted her balcony wall, painted oil scenes on a cardboard. And unexpectedly, as inspiration, creative acknowledgement came in Kherson museums halls, in Ukrainian House in Kyiv. An interesting peculiarity of her pictures is connection with folklore, folk poetry, songs. She herself is the author of a number of poems, stories, parables. She is fond of flora. In spite of a variety of genres an views one common feature unites all her works — love for native land, its culture, everyday life and festive perception of the world.
