Ihor Poshyvaylo

MYTHIC AND POETICAL IMAGE OF A FOLK MASTER

Ihor Poshyvaylo, an ethnologist, invites a reader to peep behind the back side of the visible image of a master, —workaholic, fully involved in everyday routine, — to learn the depth of his soul, his ideas, mysteries of existence. Mythological and folk sources of all the peoples of the world show that people acquired ability to create from elemental, natural things harmonic items and holly articles not due to blind opportunity or intensive experiment, but through direct learning, transferring, adoption or borrowing holly knowledge. We have to treat a folk art master's works through our spiritual nature to see in them and behind them the nature of their author and thus the nature of people.
