“RAKHIV – 2005” HUTSULS FESTIVAL
These traditional festivals are eternal. Iryna Svyontek suggests the Folk Art magazine readers a photo report from the last year festival, held in Rakhiv. There were two festivals held at the same time, in particular, all-Ukrainian XV Hutsuals one and Hutsuls Brynza local one. Besides, Sheepmen’s Congress took place, where they discussed the problems associated with the sheep breeding development. A variety of folk clothing, embroidery, ornamental designs from different villages that are treasures of our cultural heritage were presented at festivals. We can show just a small part of this bright and colorful festival in our magazine, but its spirit will stay in its participants’ souls for a long time. XVIst festival in Kolomyia ended, but “Hutsuls Brynza” annual fair-festival commenced in 2006.
