SERHIY TANADAYCHUK’S WORLD OF PAINTING
Berdychiv master Serhiy Tanadaychuk’s art works are among Zhytomyr region folk art phenomena of the late XX century. According to Anatoliy Shevchuk, Serhiy’s works are a unique example of national traditions embodiment in fine arts. He left a great heritage of paintings on cloth, paper, vytynanky (cuttings from paper), toys, painted in Trypillia decorative style. In the article it goes about paintings on small chests and wooden buckets. The author’s childish and romantic thinking was realized in painting flowers, pigs, dogs and deer on chests. However, some of the chests are decorated with the landscapes, painted in naive art style. They create an atmosphere of a calm rural life. Besides, pagan theme can be traced in the master’s art works.
