HUTSULSKI AND POKUTSKI CHESTS FROM PETRO KORPANIUK COLLECTION
Romana Kobalchynska’s, Museum of Folk Architecture and Every day Life of the Ukrainian NAS senior scientific worker, researches of this unique collection of folk furniture has become valuable as well. This research alongside with a number of color photos shows ornamental and color originality of the collection, reflects the spirit of talented folk masters. The author of the article was grateful to Petro Korpaniuk for his collection, we are grateful to her. This material arises in our souls respect to Hutsuly furniture-makers’ life and creative work. It happened that the fire destroyed the house where the 2006-year Museum exhibited this collection of wedding chests. They say it’s impossible to burn manuscripts. Perhaps, highly artistic chests also will revive in the masters’ grandsons and great-grandsons’ genes. May be investigation will prolong the collection life? Thus, we haven’t made any changes in the material and left it in the origin, from the first author’s impressions.
