REVIVING OF FOLK ART OF MAKING TOYS!
Yevhen Shevchenko, the Head of the Union attracts the readers attention to this topic and gives a brief analysis of this highly spiritual Ukrainian traditional cultural trend covering the period the Mizynsky archeological discoveries (in Chernihiv region) till present time. These are the folk masters, who were the first to understand importance of traditional toy culture revival that leads to revival of Ukrainian nation. “Ukrainian Folk Toy” All-Ukrainian exhibition in the NUFAMU halls became a significant event in the state culture and art development. More than one thousand of the best items made by the masters from approximately all over the country were exhibited. It was the creative report of a new generation of masters, who create modern art images, develop traditions and not simply reconstruct old patterns. There were dolls from textile, ethnographic dolls, wooden dolls and a big group of items from ceramic, straw and cheese … This exhibition proved a strong genetic connection of contemporaries with their ancestors.
