Valentyna Tyshscenko writes about the “Ukrainian Fashion, Traditions and the Our Days” exhibition that took place in May last year in the Ukrainian Folk Decorative Art Museum. The works of the famous Ukrainian couturiers that use ethnic traditions and samples of traditional Ukrainian women and men’s XIX — 50s of the XX centuries clothes were presented. More than 300 folk samples presented the viewers the richness of the Ukrainian costume, encouraged the artists, couturiers and students to creative work. The famous couturier Jean Paul Gotie visited the exhibition. He wasn’t simply excited by it but soon after demonstrated in Paris the fashion collection in which he expressed his emotions and feelings from Ukrainian art.
