FOLK SHIRTS FROM ZAKARPATIA These were the collections from the Folk Architecture and Every Day Life Museum of the Ukrainian NAS in Kyiv and Zakarpatia Folk Architecture and Every Day Life Museum in Uzhgorod that inspired Yevheniya Hayova to write the article. In Uzhhorod museum there are 14 thousand samples collected from the beginning of XIX century up to our days. Traditional folk handicrafts are presented here: weaving, embroidery, pottery, metal working, wood working, stone working and others. The author writes about peculiarities of women’s shirts decoration starting from XIX — to 40s of XX century. She attracts attention to variety of cutting and decoration in different villages and areas. Color photos picturesquely illustrate the narration. |
