Tamara Honcharenko

CREATIVE WORK COMES FROM LOVE, PEOPLE’S HAPPINESS COMES FROM LOVE

Tamara Honcharenko, an author of the article, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of a famous ceramist Nadiya Protoriyeva (1926 — 2005). She tells about the Protoriyevs, who for more than 40 years inspired the holly land (never called it clay) and made unique works. In 1974 their majolica was presented in 28 countries of the world “to the applause”. They graduated from the Kyiv Applied Art College and since 1950 worked in the Vasylkiv Majolica Plant (Kyiv region). The samples that had been acquired before were changed by the samples suggested by the Protoriyevs. About 80% of production was produced according to their samples. The honorable Ukrainian masters’ heritage is invaluable. Picturesque ornament, bright colors, masterly modeling gave the unique vividness to their pieces of art. Nadiya and Valeriy were joined by unquenchable love (1924 — 1997).
