Olena Klymenko, PhD in Arts, tells about one of the most talented and famous masters of Ukrainian ceramic plastics of the late XX — early XXI centuries - Vasyl Omelianenko. The undisputable leader in Opishne (Poltava area) celebrated his 80-year anniversary in August 2005. The masters’ activity was marked by the Taras Shevchenko State Prize, the name of the honorable folk art master of Ukraine (1976). He has a lot of diplomas and awards as a participant of more than 50 national and foreign exhibitions. The author often visits Opishne — the capital of Ukrainian pottery.
