Hоmeniuk sisters Iryna (1913 — 1989) and Sofiya (1921 — 2001), who made their native land famous by their unique paintings, were born in Umanshchyna, Viytivka village, in the family of a carver and a weaver. Iryna expressed the nature’s feelings through the flowers-dreams, flowers-thoughts. The sources of her inspiration were in folk art and wall painting. The younger sister Sofiya Hоmeniuk-Melnyk also took interest in painting. She is famous for thematic compositions more.
