LEMKIVSKA VATRA - 2005 - memories in photos of our correspondent Iryna Svyontek about the 7th All-Ukrainian Festival of Lemkivska Culture that is a holiday of Western Ukrainians living in Carpathians. It started in 1999 in Berezhany region and then gathered about 3 thousand people with 40 art groups from three regions and Kyiv. Now Vatra Festival gathers from 5 to 7 thousand guests and 90 art groups and separate performers. Alongside with concerts, competitions on the knowledge of the country history, entertaining programs, traditional art exhibitions are held there. Everywhere one can see original costumes decorated with unique embroidery. The next Festival is taking place in 2006 in Ternopil region.
