GLORIOUS IVAN BIBIK
In the village of Oleshni, Chernihiv region, there lives an ever-young 80-year-old famous potter, participant of the War, fabulist. Vasyl Nechepa, a well-known kobza-player, tells rapturously about him. As it is a common practice in potters' families, Ivan started twisting circles since the age of 6, and this year, the year of the Victory's 60th anniversary, he was twisting his wheel in public on the square. Ivan Ivanovych and his wife's chests are decorated with a number of war medals, and the main awards of the honorable art master are the Laureate's Diplomas for the outstanding beauty of ceramics. The master can make a unique makitra (a big clay pot used in the villages for grinding different food) or a simple but at the same time original pot. In his collection there are many items of forgotten dishes: pumpkins, twins, triplets with patterns and others. The author of the article and all the NUFAMU's members wish the glorious potter to live long, to create beautiful pieces of art and let his golden hands never be tired.
