SHIRTS OF DOLINIANY FROM TRANSCARPATHIAN REGION
In the State Museum of Folk Architecture and Everyday life of Ukraine collected papers SHIRTS OF DOLINIANY FROM TRANSCARPATHIAN REGION became a topic for the research of Yevheniya Haiova, a leading expert of the museum. In the region one of the most widely-spread kind of decorative and applied arts has been embroidery that has been to a greater extent preserved in folk clothing. In the collections of both the above mentioned museum (Kyiv) and Transcarpathian Museum of Folk Architecture and Everyday Life (Uzhgorod) samples of such shirts are kept, being the most precious memory of the past centuries. The author analyzes the linen quality, describes cutting out, accessories and ornamental designs in detail as well as illustrates her story with numerous pictures. Such shirts have been considered to be both festive and everyday clothing. What a wonderful soul Ukrainian Doluniany women had to create such magic clothing.
