EMBROIDERED RUSHNYK. Country Studena. Middle of XX century. 165 x 31,5 |
COLORFUL WORD MELODY Tetiana Prychepiy, the Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, tells, how her husband Yevhen, Doctor of Phylosophy, Professor, and she, being a scientist, in late 90s got involved in Ukrainian embroidery world and became zealous collectors as well as researchers of this unique phenomenon in Podillia. The researchers are sure, that Podillia rushnyk's (embroidered towel) plots and functions originate from the depths of time, and those depths could have been overcome by something real only, something that was really important for people to preserve and pass to their successors, something on subconscious level that united them with the rhythms of the Universe. The story is illustrated by the pictures of the exhibits presented in the NUFAMU exhibition halls. The exhibition has shown just a part of Prychepiys' collection. |
