This topic is discussed by Yuriy Melnychuk, the head of the textile section of the UFC "Ivan Honchar Museum". Several years ago together with Yadviha Vasylevska, who has a 35-year experience in making toys, they decided to start work in creation of a gallery of the Ukrainian women dolls. The author underlines that there doesn't exist a general image as well as a dress, they are different in every region. There has to be a Ukrainian woman from Kyiv, from Podillia region, Hutsuly region etc. Describing in details how such doll is made, the author invites readers to see the collection in the gallery "The Doll's House" (Andriivskyi Uzviz, 26, Kyiv) founded by the assistance of Olha Lysenko, as well as annual exhibitions in the national Taras Shevchenko museum "Ukrainian Traditional Toy and Doll". The aim of such actions is to attract people and producers' attention to creation of national toys. In future there are plans to create souvenir dolls and dolls for play with additional set of clothes and accessories to provide children possibility to sew themselves.
