This is Dmytro Stepovyk's, Doctor of Arts, review of Nina Sayenko's book Oleksandr Sayenko - a famous artist, original master. The author makes very exact, deep analysis of his works from a wonderful paintings of the 20s to the big, monumental pictures of the 60s - 70s. There we can find a very substantial textual and illustrative material, in particular, in the chapter Epistolary Materials, where the letters to O. Sayenko and his letters to other people are given. From these letters we get to know about O. Sayenko's sufferings during the two world wars and totalitarian system, as he was a son of a persecuted for nationalism Feropont Sayenko.
