(p. 38) A bright Pleiad of these weavers-heroes is represented in Zapporizhzhia Art Museum by a diverse collection of highly artistic works that constitute classics of a modern national art, affirm spiritual value of traditions. Tamara Honcharenko, an employee of the museum, tells about famous Hanna Veres and her daughters Valentyna and Olena, who inherited a gift from their grandmother, a hereditary weaver Mariya Posobchuk (1890 - 1992). Hanna Ivanivna had been in charge of a manual weaving shop in her native village of Obukhovychy for 10 years, and since 1960 she has got a deserved recognition at numerous republican and international exhibitions. She was working tirelessly during her whole life, till June 11, 2003 when her life came to its end. A life-giving spirit of the family is preserved by the daughters of a famous master, who multiply family traditions. |
