My great and proud Hutsulia. 2003. |
(p.20) Avtoportret (self-portrait) heading features Yuriy Pavlovych's story about himself and his way towards the world of beauty and science of wood-carving, written down by Illa Zlobina. Hutsul wood-carving impressed him when he was a school boy during the tour to Rakhiv school museum, and when he had already been studying in Lviv, he got acquainted with the Shkribliak's Family book, a depth of that impression has been still living in him. There is a constant development in nature and art, and the artist strives to develop traditions of his genius ancestors. The epoch of these famous people gave Pavlovych stimulus to create. He seeks that and has his own face of the Master. His every piece - is the soul's confession, its materialization. Making the best - is his credo. And his eternal thought - is about Carpathians, he pays off his debts to them by his creative work. |
