(p.15) INSPIRATION OF CHYHYRYN - is a narrative of an Honorable Figure of Arts of Ukraine Yevhen Shevchenko, on the First All-Ukrainian Symposium of Pottery Art in Chyhyryn that was opened on July 8, 2003. The aim of the event was to reveal a creative potential of young people, to deepen their skills, to train them with the help of experienced potters, particularly Yakov Briukhovetskyi, the Patriarch of Holovkiv painting, a Laureate of D.Shcherbakivskyi award as well as other famous masters. Creation of dishes on potter's wheel, decorative painting of ceramics, ceramic sculpture, production of the largest piece and traditional toys for children - those were the nominations, in which he became the winner. The symposium witnessed inexhaustibility of creative possibilities of Ukrainian pottery, continuity of artistic traditions. What is more, that the creative process of the symposium included a number of tours around historical places of well-known Chyhyryn region. Organizers of this event - the NUFAMU, its Cherkasy Center, the National Historical and Cultural Reserve Chyhyryn, Chyhyryn City and Raion Counsils, the Museum of Ivan Honchar, a production enterprise Sirius (Kyiv).
