(page 19) A famous carver Mykola Hrepyniak tells about successor of carver's traditions from Shkribliak's family, from the branch of the daughter Katherine. Petro, Yuriy Korpaniuk's grandson, since early childhood watched his grandfather working with wood. The dream about professional school brought the young fellow to Kosiv College of Applied Arts, which he graduated from in 1977. Since then he has always been in creative search - one period he works in the manner of dry carving following the Shkriliaks and Korpaniuks, the other period he combines carving with incrustation and plastic carving. The master is also fond of beads incrustation. The master also has a talent as an interior joiner, designer. The interior of his private house is just the proof. Petro Korpaniuk enriches the treasury of Hutsuly folk art by his activity. He is the NUAFMU and National Union of Ukrainian Artists member, participates actively in art exhibitions, festivals. |
