Expert in arts Petro Nesterenko analysis activity of Stepan Hanzha, a tapestry master from Kyiv, whose exhibition in NUAFMU proved existence of modern, different in topics traditions of tapestry on the basis of synthetic understanding of the world. On December 17, 2002 the master became the laureate of Danyla Shcher-bakivskyi award. But before Stepan Hanzha had passed a long way in understanding the truth and during the last decade has been confidently occupying an honorable place alongside with famous Ukrainian tapestry masters. From 1966 he was a dancer in a ballet group in Veriovka chorus. Visits to the best world museums, galleries enriched the master spiritually and developed his love to creative art. Thus, from the end of 1987 we know him as a tapestry master.
