4 January 2003 Yuriy Lashchuk, outstanding Ukrainian scientist, doctor of art sciences, professor, teacher, died. He left good memory and more than 300 scientific works. His works are known and valued not only in our country, but in many countries of the world. All his life the professor dedicated to saving and promotion of Ukrainian pottery. In his works he highlighted development of folk ceramics in XIV - XX centuries, made up a map of pottery regions, researched Ukrainian tiles during 700 years of their existence. It is Svitlana Chernova from Opishnia who writes about the life and scientific activity of the scientist.
