The story by Illa Zlobina about the People's artist of Ukraine, Serhiy H. Nechyporenko, who celebrates his jubilee and whose exhibition was the first in a new Folk Art Union building at 27-a, Reytarska st. The master's dedication to his work set the fashion to his successors and students. The graduate of Krolovets art and industrial college, in 1941 he went to the war, and it was only in 1947 when his artistic life started. He has the experience of more than 60 years of detailed learning, knowledge of folk technologies that are enriched by the culture of professional art way of thinking. His works are kilometers of decorative clothes - coverlets, table clothes, carpets, curtains, mats, rushnyks (embroidered towels), and tapestries. At his jubilee exhibition, besides the works made in 2001 - 2002, the artist also presented the public issued at his own expense the unique issue in one copy "Decorative clothes on the Ukrainian tapestry" on 420 pages with 500 illustrations. The book is waiting for its sponsor and publisher as well as the students of the Boychuk institute. This book is one more significant contribution - one more treasure of folk weaving, as well as his series of a hundred tapestries "My Berehyni", that he exhibited. The master leaves unique tradition of Ukrainian rushnyk, its protective power to future generations and "Wishes everybody consent" in his jubilee word. |
