A 48-year-old amateur, a person with kind eyes and big life experience, has painted his first pictures. Since then he has started the series of pictures on a Cossack topic, at which he has been working already for 25 years. At first there was a lack of material and knowledge about Cossacks life. Thus, he studied archives, literature, D. I. Yavornytskyi's works. Andriy Pushkariov, a painter and head of the Dnipropetrovsk office of the Folk Masters Union, tells about Vasyl Hryhoriev's difficult life, that is so closely associated with the history of our country, with its Christian optimistic principles.
