The Colorful Tree of the Kyiv Oblast
In the State Museum of Literature, for more than a month, the Kyiv Center of the Union of Folk Artists was exhibiting works of decorative painting masters. The exhibition was called "The Christmas Fantasy". Art expert Petro Nesterenko stresses the need for esthetic education, the renaissance of notional spiritand longuoge,and the awaken-ing of genetic and historic memory. He intro-duces us to the participants of the exhibition: Maria Buriak, Halyna Kalenychenko, Olha Tyshkovets, Olha Shynkarenko, Liudmyla Vitkovska/Tetiano Zharko,Hryhoriy Sokol and others. The Kyiv oblast, which is generous with talented people and rich with folk traditions,has once more declared its extraordinary potential and promises to present visitors to new artists in the future.
